The industrial self-cleaning filter produced by us is designed for separation of solid fraction from liquids in many branches of industry. The filtration process begins at 20 microns, making it an effective alternative to conventional filtration methods. The self-cleaning slotted filter is equipped with an interchangeable slotted sieve with an accuracy of 20 um – 2 000 um. The automatic cleaning of filter is the answer to the increasing pressure drop on the filter element caused by dirt accumulation. Thanks to the constant control of the pressure drop, the self-cleaning filter is able to overcome the instability of the process streams with a variable contamination load.

The modular design allows the use of this type of device at flow rates from 5 to 500 m3/h. The self-cleaning filter works on the principle of retaining solids on the surface of a cylindrical slot filter made of high quality steel 316L (1.4404). The contaminants on the slotted screen are removed mechanically with a special scraper. Sludge is collected outside the filtration zone. The sieve cleaning process is carried out automatically and does not interrupt the filtration process. Thanks to this, the self-cleaning filter can be used wherever production downtimes are highly undesirable. It is also possible to use a manual filter drive.

Most often we produce self-cleaning water filters. Water is a medium that can be found in every field of industry. To be able to use it for a given process, it must first be properly prepared. This usually involves separating various types of contaminants from the water. In this case, self-cleaning water filters are a great solution. They allow for an efficient filtration process. Additionally, slot filters for water are cheap to use, maintenance-free and easy to install.

The principle of operation:

The automatic cleaning cycle is the answer to exceeding a fixed differential pressure threshold. Self-cleaning filters have a control system that continuously monitors the current pressure drop on the filter element. When the programmed pressure drop value is reached, the cleaning procedure is started.

The cleaning procedure starts the movement of the scraper from the top of the screen towards the drain valve on the bottom of the unit. As it moves, the scraper scraps the sludge accumulated on the sieve and transports it to the filter bottom. The scraper returns to its base position. The drain valve is opened every programmed number of cycles to remove the accumulated sludge from the filter during cleaning. The cleaning algorithm implemented in this way allows the automatic self-cleaning filter to work very efficiently, with little liquid loss.

It is possible that the self-cleaning filter has a manual drive. After reaching the set value of pressure drop read from pressure gauges, the cleaning procedure should be started with a mounted crank. As with the automatic cleaning cycle, the scraper moves from the top of the sieve to the drain valve. When the scraper reaches its lower end position, the crank must be used to restore its initial position. Remember to open the drain valve independently in order to remove sludge from the filter. The frequency of this procedure depends on the amount of contamination in the filtered medium and the frequency of use.

Automation:

Pro-mill automatic self-cleaning filters are supplied with all the electrical and electronic equipment needed for proper operation. A touch screen, colorful control panel mounted on the control cabinet allows you to view or change the operating parameters of the filter unit as well as view the operating history. Self-cleaning filters can also be equipped with industrial communication ports (e.g. Profi-bus) and provide information about their status to the operator in the control room. The uploaded program itself reminds you of the upcoming periodic service intervals of the unit. If you choose a version with automatic cut-off valves, the control cabinet also controls the valves.

The self-cleaning filter is designed for continuous filtration. This allows it to be used wherever production downtimes are highly undesirable. Depending on its size, the self-cleaning filter can be used in a small production plant or in a large factory. This type of filter is used for coarse filtration.
