Our PRO-D disk filter is commonly used in the pre-filtration process in the wine and beer industry. The disk filter is an excellent alternative to standard plate and frame filters. Compared to a plate and frame filter, our disk filter completely protects the process against product loss due to leaks. It is also more hygienic because the filtration of wine and beer takes place in a tightly closed housing.
The PRO-D filtration casing has been designed to fit the most popular filtration modules of companies such as PALL, CUNO, EATON BEGEROW, Sartorius on the market. It can be made as an option for DOE filter modules (open on both sides) and with double o-ring – Plug in version.
As a standard, our disk filters – for wine and beer filtration – are made in the size of 272 mm – 290 mm, appropriately selected for 12″ and 16″ filter modules. PRO-D housings are made of 316L (or 304) stainless steel, finished with Ra<0,4um mirror polish (electropolishing – optional).
A great advantage of disk filters is a very large filtration area with small size and small pressure drops.
Filter discs – cartridges for disc housings are usually made of cellulose fibres impregnated with active carbon or diatomite earth. The filtered liquid flowing through the discs is cleaned of various types of impurities: oils, colorants, suspensions and odors (deodorizing effect). Special ceramic disc cartridges are also available.
Depending on the selected cartridge, the disk filter can serve as a pre-filter or a very thorough sterilization filter.
